Dr Victoria Burgher is a mixed-media artist, researcher and educator whose work spans creative practice, interdisciplinary research and collaborative social justice projects. She completed her practice-based PhD at the Centre for Research in Education, Arts and Media (CREAM), University of Westminster, in 2025.
Her doctoral thesis, Crafting counter-hegemony: using porcelain to interrogate ideological whiteness as anti-racist praxis, centred communion and futurity – craft and clay in pursuit of social justice and the collective imagining of a world beyond white supremacy.
Her sculptural practice, which repurposes colonial commodities to expose and challenge the ongoing whitewashing of British imperial history, is exhibited nationally and internationally.
Burgher is a visiting researcher in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Westminster and holds a BA (Hons) in Ceramics from the University of Westminster and an MA in Art and Politics from Goldsmiths, University of London.
